Renaturing With Betsy Kudlinski, LLC

I have a new article published with Brainz Magazine, about what SE™ is like. Check it out!
- I have started my Intermediate year of the 3-year training to become a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, and what being a Freedom Guide means to me is SE™ with life coach skills.
- I am a freedom guide.
- Like a nature guide, I walk by your side, through your own animal and human nature, encouraging and supporting you as you find and connect with your true nature.
- Your True Nature, that core of you that has remained unchanged since you were born.
- Look for the curiosity and enthusiasm, the passion and fervor, the peace and freedom that you can only find at the core of your being.
- The natural things we will identify along the way are the thoughts, body sensations, emotions, images, and behaviors which flit in and around the huge, gnarled old fixtures of your earliest experiences and training.
- We will paddle through the ever-changing waters of the present, and watch for the eddies, notice the whirlpools of trauma adaptations which have established themselves as grasping whitewater.
- We find the delightful, juicy gifts among the thorns of the past, and the beautiful, poisonous lures of focusing on the future.
- But mostly, we focus on the present, what’s showing up right now, in this moment, weather, season.
- Our goal is to renature, bringing you back to your own nature.
- To find your personal Freedom, allowing you to walk your own path in life.

- I am the recreator of my own life, I renatured my self.
- I have reshaped myself into the likeness I find in my heart.
- I spent my life being who I thought I was supposed to be.
- That person was shaped by developmental and acute trauma adaptation, as well as through socialization, acculturation, training, and my own personality.
- It meant was that I hid who I am from the world, and eventually even myself.
- I found myself identifying with every Disney character at that moment where they sing the “Part of Your World,” or “Reflection,” or “Let it Go.”
- My chronic illness and depression were bad enough to know that where and who I was was not working.
- What I couldn’t figure out was what I needed to change.
- Was it my career?
- Did I need to find a partner?
- I tried even harder to be what I had learned I should be.
- I realized, slowly, that none of that helped at all.
- In the 10+ years since I came to terms with my core unhappiness, I have bled, sweat, and cried, and danced, sung, and laughed, my way to freedom, living my true nature, walking my own path in life, and guiding other people to do the same.
I started working with Betsy to help me practice experiencing a fuller range of my emotions without collapsing underneath them. I have gotten that and so much more…

- And we will find your personal freedom, as I found mine.
- I have accumulated knowledge and skills on my walks through the wilds of my own nature, mother nature, animal- and plant- nature, and other people’s natures.
- Always fascinated by mother nature, human nature, animal nature, inner, and true nature, I have boned up and integrated knowledge from many schools of thought.
- I rarely bother with personality tests.
- I’m not interested in giving assignments or homework.
- Our work is done in the field of your existence, via zoom.
- I hope you bring the ideas into your life outside of our sessions.
- But the real change happens in one-on-one conversations, where we investigate, together, the inner workings of your mind-and-body.
- And in community, where we can learn from each other’s investigations.

- I love words and metaphor, as a door to opening our creativity and stimulating new thought.
- And I’m not afraid to speak straight and sharp.
- I swear a ton when I get passionate.
- And I will guide you to your own conclusions, right up until I notice you are dancing around a truth that needs to be acknowledged.
- Not a single one of us on this earth (or those humans above it) should take what we are fed without question.
- This culture, this society, traumatizes us regularly, we are brainwashed and reprogramed.
- And that’s mixed in with the complex, diverse, and influential environments we grow up in, and how we adapted in our family of origin.
- I spent 30 years playing the game this culture sets for us.
- I am absolutely fed up with it.
- It plays favorites, it stacks the deck, it leaves the majority confused and wondering where they went wrong.
- I believe it even fucks with those who “win” it all.

- I did a lot of my work alone, getting help only when I was desperate.
- But that’s not necessary, or even optimal.
- We are social, communal creatures.
- We have been conditioned to believe we need to be independent.
- But on a very base level, we cannot live well alone.
- We need others of our species.
- There is a true gift in asking for, and accepting the help and wisdom of others.
- It’s a gift to learn or accomplish things more efficiently and with support, with a minimum of unnecessary missteps and pain.
- It’s also a gift to other humans to be part of another’s journey.
- It is a gift that I never take for granted, and I am grateful every day for the purpose and dignity that I can share with others.

- Think of me as I think of myself, as a dragon.
- Whimsical and wise, absurd and predatory, earthy and not-of-this-world.
- I prefer to consider myself a mote in the universe, rather than a functional member of human society.
- Being the latter always makes me feel like I’m conforming, which evokes a trapped, caged dragon to me.
- Only the skies and natural world can adequately accommodate all of who I am.
- And you…
- Will you join me?

- It’s human nature to feel unsure at first, and to look to others for ideas.
- We are all doing the best we can- if you feel like you are lost in the woods, sometimes all you need is to find your animal nature to find that you aren’t lost.
- You know exactly where you are and where you are going.

- Most of us are drawn to Mother Nature.
- But we all feel the struggle in our own nature, to do what we are supposed to do, or feel the freedom to be ourselves.
