The Importance of Group Work in Healing
Groups are another way to immerse yourself and learn from others. I’ve personally experienced this in training modules and in multiple group case consult series. Learning together, asking questions, and being present for others’ processes is alchemical.
Going Deeper in the New Year
This year, I plan to continue my efforts to be the best practitioner I can be, assisting SE training modules around the country and the world, and expanding my deeply potent group offerings.
Over the last month or so, I’ve had a few discussions with clients and colleagues about what makes a “good” practitioner.
That term is so subjective…
In this case, though, we were talking about someone who is effective, confident, and can hold a compassionate container for you (the client or group member) to feel “safe enough” to do your work to resolve and grow.
So, what is the number one criterion?
Somatic Experiencing® and Collapse Resilience
My work with humans in this unsettling world brings me face to face with how much trauma is installed in our bodies by the greater circumstances.
I have said for years that society/culture/our training is trauma-inducing. And that so much of our personal work together is to work with that trauma. It’s tough to “resolve” it while it’s still going on.
But we can create a more resilient system.
Somatic Experiencing® and Touch Work
There is a component of Somatic Experiencing® that I don’t talk about very much, and although it was introduced early in the second year of training, I haven’t implemented it often. For what might be understandable reasons (you know… I work almost exclusively on Zoom…)
Touch work.
